HALLELUJAH! CHRIST AROSE!

“Don’t be afraid!” the angel said.
“I know you are looking for Jesus,
who was crucified. He isn’t here!
He is risen from the dead,
just as he said would happen.”
Matthew 28:5,6

People who attend church very rarely, most likely will make it at Christmas and or at Easter.

Historically, Christians gather on the first day of the week because it marks the day on which Jesus rose from the dead. The Easter season is really the most precious time of the entire year, because the resurrection of Jesus is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:17-18, “If Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost!” How utterly hopeless we would all be, now and forever, if Christ had not been raised from the dead! His resurrection shows that the Father was fully satisfied with the atonement Jesus made for our sins.

When the women came to the tomb where Jesus had been buried, they met an angel who told them “He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen.” Acts 1:3, records that “During the forty days after his crucifixion, he appeared to the apostles from time to time, and he proved to them in many ways that he was actually alive.” In fact the New Testament mentions eleven different appearances of the risen Lord.

Perhaps the strongest evidence of the resurrection of Jesus, are the transformed lives of the people who put their trust in Him as their Lord and savior. That was true right after the resurrection and is still true today, two thousand years later.

Because Jesus is alive we also shall live. As He promised “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.” John 11:25 We are able to stand by the grave-side of believing loved ones with the full confidence that they will rise again, because He arose.

“Death cannot keep his prey, Jesus my Savior!
He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!

Up from the grave He arose,
with a mighty triumph o’er His foes;

He arose a victor from the dark domain,
and He lives forever with His saints to reign,

He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Let’s Pray-
Father, thank you for the blessed hope the resurrection brings us!!
Amen
